Renovations, additions & custom homes

Renovation & New Construction Plumbing

Professional plumbing for renovations, custom homes, additions, and new construction projects across Barrie, Simcoe County, Muskoka, and surrounding areas.

Plumbing That Works With the Bigger Picture

Good renovation plumbing is about more than connecting pipes and fixtures. It has to work with the layout, design, construction schedule, and how the space will actually be used.

Tayjer works with homeowners, contractors, and builders to provide organized, professional plumbing from rough-in through final installation.

Renovation plumbing questions, answered

When should a plumber be involved in a renovation?

As early as the layout is being decided, not once framing is up. Where fixtures can go, how far a drain can run, whether a vent is achievable, and what the existing supply can support all shape the design — and those constraints are far cheaper to work around on paper than after walls are closed. Bringing a plumber in during planning also means the rough-in can be sequenced properly with framing, electrical, and finishing rather than squeezed in late.

Can plumbing be moved during a bathroom or kitchen renovation?

Usually yes, though drains are the limiting factor rather than the supply lines. Water can be run almost anywhere, but drainage needs consistent fall and proper venting, so moving a toilet or a sink a significant distance may mean opening a floor or reworking the stack. On a main floor over a basement it’s often straightforward; on an upper floor or over a concrete slab it takes more work. Tayjer looks at what’s actually feasible before you commit to a layout.

Do you provide plumbing for complete custom homes?

Yes. Custom home work is a core part of what Tayjer does, covering the full scope from initial rough-in through to fixtures and final connections. That includes the water supply distribution, drain-waste-vent system, hot water, and any water treatment the home needs, coordinated with the builder’s schedule across the whole build.

Can you replace existing plumbing fixtures?

Yes. Faucets, toilets, sinks, showers, and related fixtures are among the most common jobs Tayjer handles, whether you’ve bought the fixture yourself or want a recommendation. Swapping a fixture often means dealing with what’s behind it too, such as a corroded shut-off valve, an aging supply line, or drain rough-in that doesn’t line up with the new unit. Those are straightforward to address at the same time, and doing so is usually what makes the difference between a replacement that lasts and one that leaks in a year.

Can you work directly with my contractor or builder?

Yes, and it’s a common arrangement. Tayjer regularly works as the plumbing trade on projects run by general contractors, renovators, and custom home builders, coordinating directly with the site schedule and the other trades. Clear communication about timing matters as much as the plumbing itself on a busy site, so inspections and closing walls don’t get held up.

What areas do you provide renovation plumbing services in?

Tayjer provides renovation and new construction plumbing throughout Barrie and the surrounding region, including Innisfil, Oro-Medonte, Orillia, Midland, Penetanguishene, Wasaga Beach, Alliston, and Angus, plus Muskoka communities such as Gravenhurst, Bracebridge, and Huntsville. For larger projects near the edge of that area, it’s still worth asking.
